Squash for everyone
Squash is a fantastic way to get active, improve your fitness and have fun. A game can be as competitive or as relaxed as you want it to be, making it a great choice for friends, couples, families and colleagues.
And because you don't need to become a member, you can play whenever it suits you without committing to regular sessions.
New to squash?
Don't worry if you haven't played before.
Squash can look fast and competitive when you watch experienced players, but you can play at your own pace. If you're completely new, start with a relaxed game and enjoy getting used to the court and racket.
If you've played in the past but haven't picked up a racket for years, Pay & Play is an easy way to get back into it.
And if traditional squash sounds a little too energetic, Squash 57 could be the perfect place to start.
Squash 57 & Racketball
Our squash courts can also be used for Squash 57, formerly known as racketball. Squash 57 uses a larger racket and a bigger, bouncier ball, making it a great option for beginners, returning players or anyone looking for a slightly slower-paced alternative to traditional squash.
FInd out more about Squash and Squash 57 on our Welcome to Squash page.
No Racket? No problem!
We have equipment to hire from the Boathouse Cafe for a returnable deposit including:
Squash rackets
Racketball or Squash 57 rackets
Balls
Goggles (we advise juniors and beginners to wear protective goggles)
All you need is comfortable sports clothing and non-marking indoor trainers!
When can the public play?
Public Pay & Play is available during our clubhouse opening hours:
Monday–Friday: 9am–3pm
Saturday–Sunday: 9am–2pm
Outside these hours, squash courts are available to club members.
This means that if you want the flexibility to play early in the morning, in the evening or outside clubhouse opening hours, club membership is the option for you.
Café & Bar On Site
After your game, treat yourself to freshly brewed coffee, homemade cakes, Marshfield Farm ice cream, cold drinks or a delicious breakfast or lunch from the Boathouse Café. Our riverside terrace is the ideal place to unwind after your match.
